WHAT?


Upper Endoscopy is a procedure that uses a lighted flexible endoscope to see inside the esophagus, stomach and duodenum (the first part of the small intestine).

WHY?


The Upper Endoscopy is used to help determine the cause of :
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Anemia
  • Bleeding in the Upper GI Tract
  • Gastric Reflux
  • Nausea
  • Swallowing Difficulties
  • Unexplained Weight Loss
  • Vomiting

Problems detected may include:

  • Abnormal Growths 
  • Bowel Obstruction
  • Celiac Disease
  • Hiatal Hernia
  • Inflammation
  • Precancerous Growths
  • Ulcers
